The Bride

Eliana Pinilla was born in Miami, but grew up in Bogota, moving to Lafayette at the age of 17 to prepare for her undergraduate degree at Purdue University. After graduating, she worked at Kellogg before moving to College Station to pursue her Masters in Food Science. Her career eventually brought her to Chicago where she currently works as a Food Scientist at Tate & Lyle. Eliana is a talented baker, enthusiastic foodie, dancer extraordinaire, marathon runner and loving dog mom.

Our Fur Babies

Dean is a a tough little Texan pup with mighty handsome looks and a heart of gold. Geoffrey is a grumpy little love bug with a knack for stirring up mischief (but being so adorable that you can't stay mad at him). They couldn't be happier to become step brothers—well, at least most of the time. They are little balls of endless energy and the most loving pets that we could ever ask for.

The Groom

Jarrod Ryhal was born and raised in Clearwater, just minutes from its white sand beaches. His college days were spent at the University of Florida, where he studied graphic design, art history and business administration. Upon graduating, he moved to Chicago to pursue a career in visual communication. He currently works at VSA Partners as an Associate Creative Director in the design practice. Jarrod is a typographic nerd, Star Wars enthusiast, avid backpacker and kind-hearted doggy dad.

How We Met

It was a very cold December in Chicago when we first exchanged message on OKCupid, an online dating program. After several long letters to each other, we knew we had to meet. We both happened to live in Logan Square and our first date was at a restaurant called Analogue. We hit it off rather quickly exchanging details about our jobs, favorite foods, music, sporting interests and the joys of being doggy parents. Our second date turned into three dates in one and it didn't take long to fall in love with each other.
